If you are suffering with anxiety and/or depression, or anger issues, you know the pain and distress these emotions can cause in our daily lives. What we overlook is the important scientific understanding that many of these problems are also related to the different coping styles/strategies that we developed throughout our childhood to fulfill our basic needs of TO BE SEEN, SOOTHED, SAFE, and SECURE in our social environments.
These styles became a part of our personalities through the years. However, while they ‘worked’ pretty well in the past, they are giving us problems in our current lives. Scientific studies have shown that these ‘coping habits’ we learned, can be changed with awareness, detachment, and integration, through learning about the workings of our minds and training of our brains to change them.
My individual and group psychotherapy orientation is based on the Interpersonal Neurobiology Approach, combining an attachment-based, psychodynamically- informed eclectic stance, the mindfulness-based cognitive- behavioral -experiential therapies, and psycho- education. I have also developed a unique 10 week package named Brain-Based Mindfully-Managed Stress Program to help with chronic stress-related psychological and physiological problems like anxiety, depression, anger, cardio-vascular, gastro- intestinal, dermatological, and infertility issues.
